This powerful 25-minute documentary exposes the tactics employed by human traffickers, targeting vulnerable individuals, including those facing financial hardships, to recruit them as drivers for immigrants. The film sheds light on the dangers faced by both the recruited drivers and the immigrants they transport, providing a compelling and investigative perspective on the complex issue of human trafficking in the context of immigration.

As part of my summer internship at Re:Baltica: The Baltic Center for Investigative Journalism, I had the privilege of working on this project. My responsibilities included transcribing interviews and translating them from Russian to Latvian and English. I also mapped out the routes taken by drivers involved in smuggling immigrants, contributing valuable insights to this investigative piece.

Being part of this experience was truly exceptional, and it brought me immense pleasure to contribute to such a vital and serious subject, particularly considering my keen interest in immigration and immigration policies.
